Dermaroller Treatment Brighton

What does Dr. Hallam say about Dermaroller?

Dermaroller is one of the best ways to generate collagen in the skin without having to endure a deep peel or a laser treatment that can result in a lot of down time.

Dermaroller is a natural treatment particularly helpful if combined with Restylane skin boosters when treating sun damaged or acne scarred skin.

What is the Dermaroller treatment?

A Dermaroller treatment creates thousands of micro-punctures in the skin. The skin will become smoother and younger looking as these micro-punctures heal. A typical Dermaroller treatment usually takes between 15 and 30 minutes.

How does Dermaroller work?

The skin is first cleaned and then a local anaesthetic cream is applied to the areas to be treated. The Dermaroller, which contains hundreds of micro-needles, is then rolled across the skin causing micro-punctures in the surface of the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. Improvements in the skin can usually be seen from 6-12 weeks after the treatment. For the best results, a minimum of three treatments is recommended at intervals of between 4 and 6 weeks.

What can Dermaroller treat?

Dermaroller can produce significant results when treating the following:
bullet  Acne scarred skin;
bullet  Sun damaged skin;
bullet  Aged skin;
bullet  Stretch marks.

How safe is Dermaroller?

When used correctly, Dermaroller is a remarkably effective and safe treatment. The skin will usually look slightly sunburnt and will feel warm and tighter than usual just after the treatment, but this will usually subside within a couple of hours. The skin may be slightly redder than usual the day after the treatment.

    In order to get the best results after a Dermaroller treatment, the following guidelines should be followed:
    bullet  Avoid wearing make up for 24 hours after the treatment.
    bullet  Avoid excessive sun and alcohol for the first 24 hours after the treatment.
    bullet  Apply a sun block cream to the skin for the first few days after treatment.
    bullet  If you are a smoker, avoid smoking for a week or two after the treatment.
    bullet  Applying a vitamin C serum to the skin after the treatment can help to stimulate the production of collagen.
