Introducing award-winning, revolutionary Dermapen 3…..

Dermapen is the most advanced skin needling device available, designed to transform your skin and leave it glowing. I am excited about the results I have already seen. Not only does it deliver these results it is far more comfortable than older methods of microneedling such as dermaroller. As needle depth can be controlled it can be used for a wider range of skin problems and so is excellent for all age groups.

Dermapen causes highly increased collagen production in the skin, which reduces lines and wrinkles and slows future aging. Micro-needling treats pigmentation, reduces pore size and is a very real beak through in the improvement of acne scaring and stretch marks which were previously untreatable.

Smaller consumable parts means it is more affordable. 1 treatment alone will help your skin but for best results a course of 3 or more every one or two years is recommended.

Why micro-needling and why Dermapen 3?

Micro-needling therapy or collagen induction therapy, has been used for decades. It is a procedure that involves making many, tiny punctures to the skin.

For the dermis, the deep layer of the skin…..

As each fine needle enters the skin, it creates a channel or micro-wound. This tricks the body to start the healing process. Growth factors are released which stimulate fibroblast cells to produce new collagen and elastin which are the scaffold of the skin.

This process leads to a remarkable reduction of wrinkles and scars allowing skin rejuvenation with improved texture, firmness and hydration.

Dermapen 3 uses multiple fine needles to vertically puncture the skin in rapid succession (above right). This is different from traditional dermarollars (above left) which rotate and cause tiny tears in the skin which makes the dermarollar much more painful with more downtime.
Dermapen is comfortable, even in the deepest treatments only a little numbing cream is needed and redness is usually much less.

For the epidermis, the upper layer of the skin….

Micro needling the outer or epidermal layer of skin releases growth factors that control pigment cells, pores and sebaceous glands. This improves the patchy pigmentation that can occur due to sun damage and also improve acne and open pores.

The Dermapen’s needle depth and speed can be adjusted to achieve this.

In addition….

The smaller tip allows the device to be easily maneuvered around facial contours and delicate features such as the eyes, nose and mouth which has been very difficult with other micro-needling methods.

The disposable tip of the ‘pen’ is less expensive making the treatment more affordable.

3 or more treatments 2-4 weeks apart are ideal, but even one will improve your skin add help protect it against aging.

What happens during the treatment and how will I look afterwards?

Your skin is thoroughly cleaned. If having a very deep treatment you may need some numbing cream on your forehead. The tip is passed several times over your skin and takes around 20 minutes. Afterwards a soothing face mask can be used to reduce redness. Vitamin C and growth factor rich serum is applied and a light sun screen.
Skin varies in sensitivity, but for most expect your skin to be quite red for 2-3 hours afterwards. However it will quickly settle into mildly pink which may last for a day or so.

  • Top Tip

Your dermapen treatments will be greatly enhanced with a good skin care regime, which includes:
bullet  Daily sunscreen containing UVA and UVB.

bullet  Vitamin C serum containing quality, stabilized L-ascorbic acid. Vitamin C is need to produce collagen and also reduces pigmentation.

bullet  Tretinoin cream. This is prescription only vitamin A cream which exfoliates and repairs skin cells so they produce collagen and elastin. It is a cousin of retinol, but much more effective.

Please ask in clinic for advice in using these. They can be expensive and I have researched the most effective and cost effective products for your skin.
